Effect of loading methods on progressive collapse behavior of RC beam-slab substructures under corner column removal scenario

In this paper, high-fidelity finite element (FE) models were developed to investigate the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) beam-slab substructures resist progressive collapse under a corner column removal scenario. The numerical validated by test results. Then, FE employed structural different loading methods, including concentrated (CL) and uniformly distributed (UDL) methods. Moreover, multi-story frames built capture load redistribution at floors results indicated that methods affect overall responses, transfer mechanisms, failure modes. It was demonstrated Vierendeel action could not be ignored for caused loss More significant in structure subjected CL method than UDL method. also found mechanisms top story bottom frame are pretty from those middle stories. has most remarkable resisting capacity.
